A breast augmentation mastopexy, also known as a breast augmentation with a Lift, is a surgical procedure that restores youthful shape and lift to the breasts. This procedure is ideal for addressing breasts that have sagged or lost volume or fullness due to gravity, aging, weight loss, pregnancy, and/or breastfeeding. It can also correct asymmetries.

Some women decide to have a breast augmentation simultaneously with their breast lift. Combining a breast lift and augmentation is especially advantageous when a woman desires both a lift and an increase in overall size or upper pole fullness.

Two surgical techniques—implant-based and fat transfer—can achieve breast augmentation and lift. What to Expect on the Day of Breast Augmentation with a Lift Surgery

On the day of your breast augmentation with a lift procedure, our patient concierge team will welcome you and make sure you are comfortable. Dr. Sato will meet with you once more to review your surgical procedure plan. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, she will be happy to address them at that time.

When you are ready, you will be placed under anesthesia to ensure you feel no pain or discomfort during the surgery. If you elect a breast augmentation mastopexy with implants, Dr. Sato will make incisions to place your selected implants at the time of your consultation. For a fat grafting procedure, Dr. Sato will create incisions in the donor areas of your body to access fatty tissue, purify the fat, and then re-insert the fat into incisions in your breast tissue to gradually enhance the volume and shape.

Dr. Sato will then reposition the breast tissue so that the breasts sit higher on the chest, close the incisions with absorbable sutures for minimal scarring, and apply a dressing.

Patients will be monitored in the recovery room until the anesthesia wears off and they can be safely released.

Breast Augmentation with a Lift Recovery

Most of our Houston patients are able to return home the same day after receiving their breast augmentation mastopexy procedures. However, Dr. Sato will require patients to have a close family member or friend drive them home and assist them around the house for the first 24 to 48 hours following their procedure.

Once the anesthesia has worn off, patients can expect to feel some mild pain and discomfort as their breasts adjust to their new shape and position. You will be provided with post-surgical instructions to facilitate the healing process and ensure your breasts settle into the desired results. During this time, you will need to wear a supportive bra or compression garment to reduce swelling. You may also require drains to prevent fluid buildup.

Most patients can resume their regular routines within two weeks after their surgery.
